Adam Posts A Blog For His Fans

09.07.08
Adam's blogged about his recent trip to the US with his family and his plans for the next few months. Read all about it here!

MY BIT.

Hi again everyone, I hope you are all doing alright and have a few dollars left in the pocket after the tax man gets his share.

Its hard to believe that we are already half way through 2008. Another year older and deeper in debt is the old saying isnt it!
Well the Harveys have just returned home from America after a well earned holiday. I hosted a tour to Nashville with around 70 Aussies and this time miss Kathy and the kids came along. (She must have heard about the great time I had there last year!)

Everyone on the trip had a ball and I got to play my favorite gig again...the Grand 'Ole Opry. I just love playing on that stage and this time was even better with Conway and Leylah sitting in the audience, smiling up at me.

Miss Kathy badly sprained her ankle on a shopping trip (apparently she was carrying too many shopping bags, although she denies that!) so Kath had to lay up for a few days while the kids and I were out and about in Music city.

After our week in Nashville the Harvey tribe headed off to Las Vegas where we caught the David Copperfield show. I must admit I wasn't all that keen on going, but he is really amazing and I still don't know how he did some of those magic tricks.

Then we went to L.A. and Disneyland, so everyone was happy and tired out by the time we got on the plane for home. (I should mention that we had three extra suitcases coming back than when we went there.)

Conway turned 7 on the day we arrived home and he got a Nintendo DS which he has been nagging us about for the past year. We had a birthday cake and a nice quiet day at home. Leylah turns 6 next month and all she wants is a kitten so we went to a cat breeders and she picked out a beautiful little tabby. Leylah has been driving us mad as to why she couldn't just bring the kitten home and I have tried many times to explain that she has to be with her mum for a few more weeks...but it doesnt sink in! Poor old sam (our dog) won't know whats hit him once this cat arrives!

It feels like I've been home for a second and its time to hit the road again. I'm just about to head to the airport and fly to Victoria to play some shows with Catherine Britt. I have done a bit of touring with Catherine this year and I think she has got a lot of talent, and her new album is great.
So far the crowds have been really good and fingers crossed...the mexicans will come out and see us down in my old stomping ground.

My Dad has been pretty sick again so I'll go and visit him for a few days in Geelong and also record a duet while I'm down there. A rock band called "Borne" called me and asked if I would sing a duet on their next album.

I was a bit reluctant at first but once I heard the song and found out that they are doing duets with lots of other artists (including Kate Cebrano) I figured why not.

Dont worry gang...there is no way in hell that I'm going to become a heavy metal artists!

After the Victorian dates I'm heading to WA to sing at the rugby World Cup which should be pretty cool. (The best thing about that is you get great seats to the game!) Then Catherine and I are heading down to Tassie (in the middle of winter so it should be cold as a mother in law's get well card!).

Later in the year I'm really excited about possibly touring with Troy Cassar-Daley. We have been talking about it for a while now and I had the idea of putting a show together where we sing all the great old country songs that we love. Troy loves all the great country singers like I do and I reckon the show would be great. We have even talked about recording an album together so who knows...but I'll keep you posted on when and where we will be playing.

If anyone wants a left handed set of golf clubs, I have a pair to give away! I went and played my first game of golf in 6 months and let me tell you...it was bloody awfull. At least I got my money's worth with all the swings I had.

The radio station is going really well and I'm still working on syndicating a show called 'Harveys happy Hour' across Oz each week. I really enjoy working on radio and I dont think we have anywhere near enough country music on the airwaves. Anyway I should get the show up and running in the next few months and then.... look out...I'll have the gold microphone and start the show with "Hello World this is Adam Harvey"
yeah right....I dont think so but I'm having fun with it and promoting country music and thats the main thing.

I guess thats about it from me...Miss Kathy is pushing me out the door saying I need to get out there and pay the credit card off.
Take care and I'll see you soon.

Adam.
