19.11.09
Earlier this week Adam Harvey appeared alongside fellow Ambassadors Charli Delaney, Paul Mercurio and Mark Vincent, in Martin Place on 16 November to launch the UnitingCare Share Christmas Gift Appeal.
All proceeds from sales at the launch go towards the work of UnitingCare which is experiencing firsthand the impact of the financial crisis on children, young people, families and older people.
"Its such a great charity and brings happiness to less fortunate people at Christmas, I hope that everyone really gets behind it!" Adam said after the conclusion of the launch.
Now in its 18th year, the UnitingCare Share Christmas Gift Appeal has seen almost 1.6 million gifts donated at Target stores around the country. In 2009, UnitingCare and Target are hoping to collect and distribute 150,000 gifts to disadvantaged children, homeless teenagers, and families in crisis.
UnitingCare is a national network of 374 organisations. An outreach of the Uniting Church in Australia, UnitingCare provides assistance and support to all people in need. Each year UnitingCare assists more than 1.8 million people throughout Australia. UnitingCare employs more than 35,000 staff and is supported by a network of 24,000 volunteers.
Gifts can be donated from the 16th November until 5pm 23 December at Target or Target Country stores.
